Jockey Michael Rodd says Whobegotyou can win a battle of tactics and land the Group Two Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes at Moonee Valley for the second year in a row.
Rodd said Australian Racehorse of the Year Typhoon Tracy was almost certain to dictate the pace in Saturday's small field of eight which would enable the Mark Kavanagh-trained galloper to capitalise on his "lightning" turn of foot.
"It looks like the mare (Typhoon Tracy) is going to have a nice time in front and it will be sprint home," Rodd said.
"It is going to be a race of tactics but my bloke has got a lightning turn of foot and I think if they go steady enough he can probably outsprint them.
"I don't think it is going to be a hard-run mile (1600m) tomorrow so it shouldn't be out of his reach."
The Dato Tan Chin Nam is seen as a three-horse race between TAB Sportsbet favourites Shoot Out ($2.80), Typhoon Tracy ($3) and Whobegotyou ($3.20).
Last start Whobegotyou beat home third-placed Shoot Out and fourth-placed Typhoon Tracy when he was second to So You Think first-up in the Group Two Memsie Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield.
It was reminiscent of his second in last year's Memsie to Mic Mac before winning the Dato Tan Chin Nam.
Whobegotyou would be only the fourth multiple winner of the Moonee Valley feature which was first run as the Feehan Stakes in 1949. - aap
